Waiting to Be Seen
Timing, secret dreams, and the courage to begin
Sometimes a project lands because it’s time for it to make its way into the world. Sometimes it’s unexpected, and it’s only through the process of doing the work that we come to know how vital it is.
This is one of those.
I completed a series of AI-assisted images that depict my cherished plant spirits. These are plants with whom I have cultivated a relationship over many years of personal and professional practice.
These plants have accompanied me along my own personal journey; they have appeared in aromatherapy blends for myself and others; they have graced my garden; and now are held within the Spirit Dolls I make.
It has been a beautiful evolution, and one that has profound meaning for me. This is a piece of the journey that I never expected, and yet I know it is time for these benevolent helpers to be seen.
These cards introduce thirteen plants and their corresponding plant spirits in all their glory. It was an incredible experience to see them appear in front of me through my words describing how I know them. Technology meeting magic.
Having these treasured companions in visual form in my hands fulfills a dream that I hadn’t known I’d been holding.
Timing is everything.
I wonder how many of us are holding unknown dreams? Ideas and visions breathing quietly beneath the surface, waiting for the right moment, the courage, and the right unexpected door to open.
These cards reminded me that some things are not planned so much as recognised; the dream was always there, patient as a garden, waiting to be tended.
